Mrs. DeTraglia

Mrs. DeTraglia

Counselor - 9th & 10th Grade

Hi! I am Mrs. DeTraglia (formerly Miss Powers), your counselor for 9th and 10th grade. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you over the next few years. You will hear me say this from time to time, but after 10th grade our relationship doesn't end! Mr. Scialdone and I are separated by grade level for scheduling purposes, but we are here to help each and every one of you across your four years of high school.

I am an alumna of Poland Central School and traveled slightly up the rode to complete my bachelors degree in Psychology at Utica College. From there, I completed my masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at Medaille College in Rochester because I knew I wanted to spend my career making a difference in some way. From a young age, I knew I wanted to work with children, and found my way back into the school setting after completing my Advanced Study in School Counseling at the College of Saint Rose.

This is my fourth year at Sauquoit and I truly feel like I can call this place my home away from home. I have two beautiful babies (and two beautiful fur babies) that keep me very busy when I am not here with you. You can usually find me with a Utica Coffee cup in my hand saying something along the lines of "make good choices!"

In addition to being your school counselor I have also adopted the role as Student Council Advisor and Yearbook Advisor. I look forward to bringing great things to the student community and culture at Sauquoit.

I am here and ready to help you navigate high school. Please make an appointment with Mrs. Laribee in counseling to meet with me!

HAVE A GREAT YEAR!
